Our role

Where does our foundation fit among the other institutions trying to improve health sector

Prarthana Foundation has emerged as a pivotal force in the health sector, championing innovative approaches to healthcare accessibility and quality. Through strategic partnerships and grassroots initiatives, the foundation extends vital medical services to underserved communities, bridging gaps in primary care, immunization, and maternal health.

Jeeva Prathana Palliative Care

We understand the physical, emotional, and financial challenges faced by financially disadvantaged patients dealing with terminal or temporary illnesses. We offer Jeeva Prarthana palliative care through Don Bosco Hospital at N. Paravur. This scheme provides financial assistance to 20 patients, worth a maximum of Rs 50.000 per patient per year. This support helps cover medical expenses, medication, and other palliative care needs. Additionally, an ambulance is provided to ensure convenient transportation for these patients.

Hospitalisation And Monthly Medicine Support:

In times of emergency hospitalisation, we extend our support to local community members facing financial difficulties. Our organisation assists them in meeting the contingencies arising from hospitalisation, offering financial aid to alleviate the burden. For patients who do not receive necessary medicines from government sources, we provide monthly supplies to ensure they have uninterrupted access to their prescribed medications. Currently, 30 families benefit from this programme on a monthly basis.

Sanitation Facility

Waterlogged areas often face additional challenges when it comes to sanitation due to the difficulty of managing waste and sewage. By providing toilet facilities with septic tanks to 204 residents who did not have a proper one, which made a significant impact on the community. Sanitation facilities like toilets and septic tanks ensure the proper disposal of waste and help maintain a clean and healthy environment.

Safe Drinking Water

Supporting local residents with 183 domestic connections is a significant contribution to ensuring safe drinking water in the community. Domestic connections enabled households to have a direct and reliable source of treated water for their daily needs. This initiative helps to improve the overall health and well-being of the residents.

Midday Meal For The Patients

The Government Ayurveda Hospital in N. Paravur is committed to providing comprehensive healthcare services to patients seeking traditional Ayurvedic treatments. The Mid-day Meal for the Patients" programme by Prathana Foundation is to provide a nutritious and satisfying meal for the patients at the government Ayurveda hospital, addressing their hunger and supporting their overall recovery process. The "Mid-Day Meal for the Patients" programme has exemplified the commitment of our institution towards providing holistic healthcare services.

Grocery Supply

In recognition of the challenges faced by families who have lost their sole earning member or have a member facing disabilities, the Prarthana Foundation has established a compassionate initiative called the Free Grocery Assistance Programme. This programme aims to provide essential groceries for families who currently lack the means of support, ensuring they have access to food during difficult times. Currently, we provide assistance for 30 Families in our near-by service area.

Clinical Oxygen Machines

Recognising the urgent need for oxygen support during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have procured two units of clinical oxygen generators. These machines have been deployed to cater to the needs of individuals in the nearby area. They continue to serve patients with post-COVID health issues, ensuring that they have access to oxygen therapy for their recovery.
